How a pinboard runs our projects

Project tools come and go. The cork board on the studio wall has outlasted all of them.

We have tried most project tools. The one that stuck is a cork board, two metres wide, on the wall by the kitchen.

One board per project

Each live project gets a column: the brief at the top, the current direction in the middle, and whatever is blocking us at the bottom. Anyone walking past for coffee can see where things stand.

Why it works

A board is public. Nothing hides in a tab nobody opens. Clients who visit the studio read it in seconds, and they often spot the problem before we do.

We still keep files and deadlines in software. The board is where the decisions live.
